The transition between 2d animation and stop motion left me in shock
I know it's to try and make the transformation of the thing / monster simpler, but it's fantastic.

Thanks! That was done by pasting 2d-animated frames onto wooden laser-cut panels and photographing them in-frame! There was also easing into the final pose with digitally painted drawings.
